The Staten Island Tuna Club is proud to bring you the Grandpa Savino Fluke tournament. This tournament commemorates a great man, Grandpa 'Jimmy' Savino. Grandpa Savino was a longtime advocate for fishing all types of species in the New York bite. His love of fishing graduated with his first boat in 1978 with a 38 foot Bertram 'Texas Tea' and as continued to be on the water for a lifetime after. While enjoying his favorite past time, entered and won many tournaments, opened a bait shop and shared his love of fishing with children in the local community. He is survived by a family of fisherman who carry the torch for his passion for fishing. Grandpa's was a Staten Islander and a member of the Staten Island Tuna Club for many years and he will be remembered in our hearts.
